Chronicle of the Week: The most Charlemagne of Corton-Charlemagne!

A mythical gem whose vines were once owned by the Emperor Charlemagne, Domaine Bonneau du Martray was bought in 2017 by American Stanley Kroenke, also owner of the famous Screaming Eagle estate.
The estate extends over 11 hectares of Grand Cru in a single block in the heart of Charlemagne, where “En Charlemagne” from Pernand-Vergelesses meets “Le Charlemagne” from Aloxe-Corton. This is the only Burgundy Grand Cru to face west.
We applaud Domaine @bonneaudumartray’s unique approach to offering ready-to-drink wines, aged in the domaine’s own cellars to reach their peak of flavor.
