Chronicle of the Week: A Nuits with a Vosges accent!
Located mid-slope on the northern slope of Nuits-Saint-Georges, the name of the Premier Cru “Aux Chaignots” comes from the Old French Chasne, which gave rise to the modern name Chesne, then Chêne; a place where oak trees grew.
The Chevillon family has been growing vines in Nuits-Saint-Georges since the 1900s. Today, brothers Bertrand and Denis Chevillon, sons of Robert, look after 13 hectares of vines, including 1.55 hectares of Premier Cru “Les Chaignots”.
Matured for up to eighteen months, never more than 30% new oak, the wine is sensual and deep, with flavors of cherry and dried flowers.
“Nuits wine never hurts.” Burgundian saying
Our thanks to Domaine #robertchevillon, whose wines we distribute with joy and passion!
