Inhabited by a passion for terroirs and a taste for true Champagne, Francis Egly remains one of the most talented winemakers on the Champagne wine scene.
As the third generation to head the family domaine, Francis Egly continues the work begun by his forebears. Nestled in the heart of the Montagne de Reims Grands Crus, the domaine shines with champagnes that reflect the diversity of the region’s terroirs. With the help of his children, Clémence and Charles, Francis Egly devotes all his energy to nurturing the vines and their grapes, providing them with care that respects their rhythm of life. In the cellar, the grapes are once again the focus of attention. Harvested when just ripe, the grapes do not undergo malolactic fermentation to preserve their freshness and purity, and barrel ageing lasts for long periods in the estate’s cellars, giving the champagnes their final harmony.
The Grands Crus of Bouzy, Verzy and Verzenay deliver expressions as pure as the terroirs of Vrigny or Bisseuil. Each cuvée reveals the typicity of its terroir and is full of secrets for the enlightened connoisseur who knows how to taste them.
