Antoine Jobard grew up in a family of winegrowers. The fifth generation of a passionate family, he apprenticed with his father on the family estate for many years before taking over the reins in 2006. Tradition is at the service of the magnificent parcels of Meursault that the family is lucky enough to be able to reveal.
Far from wishing to revolutionize the ancestral practices applied by his father, Antoine Jobard is continuing the know-how of his forebears, making the wines of the Meursault appellation shine. For a long time an exclusive Chardonnay producer, he has recently acquired red plots, mainly in Pommard, enabling him to offer a now two-tone range. The red wines are on a par with the whites: simply exceptional. Antoine Jobard favors harvesting at optimum ripeness, not hesitating to postpone the dates to harvest perfectly ripe grapes.
Far from lacking in vivacity, the wines age wonderfully well, revealing their full potential with age. Respect for plants and the absence of weedkillers have always been part of the domaine’s philosophy, and Antoine continues to cultivate the vines as if they were his own garden. The results are immediate: the precision and purity of the wines promise to make Domaine Antoine Jobard wines famous far beyond the borders of Meursault.
