Owned by the famous Boisset family, the 34-hectare Domaine de la Vougeraie comprises some of the finest plots in Burgundy.
The story of Domaine de la Vougeraie began in the 1960s with the acquisition of the first vineyard: Les Evocelles. Since then, the estate has constantly enriched its winegrowing heritage with renowned plots, offering today a very wide range of wines of exemplary quality.
At the domaine, nothing is left to chance, and every effort is made to produce precise, expressive wines. Since the early 2000s, the estate has been practicing organic and biodynamic viticulture to preserve its plant heritage and encourage the free expression of each terroir. Listening to and respecting the soil and vine cycles give birth to wines bursting with Light and Energy. The domaine is fortunate to be able to sublimate some of Burgundy’s finest parcels, some of which are monopolies. For example, the domaine is the sole owner of the Clos Blanc de Vougeot Monopole, which adjoins its famous neighbor Le Clos de Vougeot. The latter offers a pure, delicate expression of a mythical, atypical Côte de Nuits white wine. Composed mainly of Chardonnay, this parcel also includes a small proportion of Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc, adding to the typicity of this majestic cru.
All the wines produced at the domaine reflect this desire for transparency of terroir in each cuvée. Sylvie Poillot, previously Sales Manager at the domaine, took over the reins in 2017 and unveils wines that she wants to be imbued with their origins. The consistency of the wines produced is remarkable. Finesse and elegance are the hallmarks of every tasting session.
